Heyy, how yall doin’?! 🥰
By Tasha B
This month, like the 6 before it, has been full of all the things. The good, bad and stressful as hell! I don’t know about yall but it’s been quality time with family and friends that have been getting us by; along with some dope shows and movies to help us unplug and relax.
Community has been a huge factor. Not just to help us to stay sane and keep our peace, but to bring about change and support our neighbors and friends during these crazy times.
Let’s continue to show up for the folks in our lives and our communities the best we can, cause as we always say, we all we got!

Growth isn’t just something we talk about on the pod. It’s our daily experience. Here’s what’s been going on with us:

Checking In with Tasha B.
This month I did a full, unassisted pull-up for the first time! Now I can do three in a row! A personal goal of mine and something I have been working towards since October last year. I have also been working on and taking meetings to pitch my show Why Am I Here?, to executives and producers. Shit is starting to get real, and while it is scary, it is also super cool to be learning and doing something new. I have always wanted to write and create the perfect role to showcase my skills and unique sense of humor, and creating this show is allowing me to do just that! My journey this year is all about finding and using my artistic voice! And so far, so good. The plan is to write more short stories and think pieces to post on Substack just to get used to putting my writing out there. Want to get back to the OG HTBR days where we posted our thoughts, feelings, and opinions on the blog cause y’all know I got a lot to say! 😂
All in all I have been putting in the work both physically and mentally to put myself where I want to be. I ain’t letting oppression, bullshit, or even myself stop me
Checking In with Tay
July was here and GONE hunny lol Like where does the time go?!
I’m starting to finally feel my stride. It’s officially August 1, 2025, and I’m JUST NOW feeling like I’m in a smooth place. Something I talk about in the podcast (and IRL) is that my goal for this year is to move with intention and not consistently overloading myself with busy work just because I can. Until recently, I was a strong member of the “you have to work hard for it, grind for it, get to the bag” gang. But I’ve come to the realization that I actually don’t like operating in that energy–where it feels like I’m moving fast for my career, but having no time for myself doing the things that bring me joy [like resting 🙃].
I came into this awareness at the beginning of the year, and I feel like I’m in a place where I’m kinda starting to find a balance with work, my relationship, yoga teaching, social life, fitness, nutrition, and family time. Some days are much much better than others, but it’s the closest I’ve ever felt to knowing peace as an adult LMAO
And dammit, that counts for something!
The Three Realest
A rotating list of what’s helping us get through the month. No ads. No fluff. Just three things we’re really vibing with.
Here are 3 things Tasha watched this month that provided both entertainment and inspiration:

Netflix’s Building The Band: This show was entertaining and full of amazing singers. It did not end the way I wanted it to, but watching the groups perform was dope!
Superman: a fun and inspirational movie with the original superhero! Loved it and if you haven’t seen it, you definitely should 😏
New Girl: it’s an oldie but a goodie! A show that is easy watching, has funny weird characters and hella episodes. All the makings for a comfort show; one I keep coming back to every few years.
The Weekly Real - Podcast Gems
Every episode, we get into one thing that’s been showing up for us—emotionally, spiritually, or just straight up energetically. In this month’s latest episode we talked about the things we didn’t know we were doing until it was time to stop doing them. The convo got real, and accountability was taken.
The journey to accountability is not easy, and ego will try to get in the way. It is grace and acceptance that help us overcome that and not beat ourselves up for a perceived flaw or wrongdoing. On the other side, you are able to let go of things that don't align with the supreme version of you. ✨Check out the full episode below ⬇️
