Real Ones: The Inbox Era Begins š
What weāre loving, what weāre learning, and what didnāt make it to the podcast mic.
Welcome to the How To Be Real Newsletter!
Whatās up to all the Real Ones! Weāve been talking in your ears for a minute, so it only felt right to start showing up in your inbox, too. š„°
Each month, weāll both tap in with a personal check-inābecause life keeps life-ing, and weāre all figuring it out as we go. After that, one of us will take the lead and walk you through the rest: what weāre loving, what weāre unpacking, and what didnāt quite make it to the micā¦but still matters.
This month, Tashaās kicking us off!
Mic Check
Growth isnāt just something we talk about on the pod. Itās our daily experience. Hereās whatās been going on with us:

Checking In with Tasha B.
Hey yall! Things have been going pretty good this month. Been working on walking meditation, it does not come easy! My therapist says it will help me figure some things I have been struggling with out⦠so far it has shown me that while I know I am on my way, I am not 100% clear on my exact destination. Maybe Iām a little too detached? (LOL) On a brighter note you can now catch me in the film No Address- streaming on Amazon Prime and Apple TV! I also finished a pilot script I have been working on for years! I submitted the pilot to a Bay Area screenwriting program called The Baylist. As an artist (who is very sensitive about her shit) it was scary being that open and vulnerable, but I am so proud of myself for putting my work out there. I have some dope projects in the works for May and am so excited for whatās to come!
Checking In with Tay
Whatās good my people?! Iām helllllaa happy to be returning to more long form written content! April has been a busy month so farāas some may know, I celebrated my birthday for a whole month (as everyone effing should) and as fun as that was, Iāve been having to catch up on so much work! Iām self-employed and run my own media marketing studio called Ninth Flow Creative. Entrepreneaur life has been a WILD ride and every now and then I find myself scrolling the jobs section of LinkedIn just to feel a lil something lmao This month I led a video production in LA that was a beautiful labor of love but also reeeeally challenged my leadership skills. But in true Aries fashion, I learn best through trial by fire! š„
The Three Realest
A rotating list of whatās helping us get through the month. No ads. No fluff. Just three things weāre really vibing with.
Weāre highlighting the three realest products that help Tasha stay out on the trails!
Brooks Caldera running shoes ā As a runner with plantar fasciitis, these are the best shoes for support and comfort while out on the trails!
Embark trekking poles ā When my husband first got them for me, I thought āonly old folks need these,ā but once I used them, I realised how much pressure they take off of your legs, especially when going up or down steep inclines.
The All Trails app ā This is helping me both track my miles and find dope hikes! Plus, it's so dope and encouraging to get a video recap of your hike or run!
The Weekly Real - Podcast Gems
Every episode, we get into one thing thatās been showing up for usāemotionally, spiritually, or just straight up energetically.
This month, we discussed the struggle mindset and how to let go of the belief that life will always be hard. This topic came straight from my journal, and the insight was gained from working through my own attachment to struggle in my therapy sessions. I learned that while struggle is not something I enjoyed, I did find comfort in it. I even used it to justify some self-sabotageāYikes!
The best advice I got and shared in the episode is to acknowledge the struggle, but take time to acknowledge the ease as well. Life is hardly ever one thing. As always, be kind and patient with yourself; you deserve it! Check out the full episode below ā¬ļø
